Rory Willett founded BundutecUSA, Inc. in 2013 in NE Iowa, which is situated in the heartland of the United States. After spending a 40-year-long career in the family business, Northstar Campers, where he was the president, he decided to retire. His grandfather, Tex Willett, started the family business in the early 60s, which eventually became one of the top truck camper manufacturers in the USA with the help of Rory’s designs and engineering experience.

With Rory’s vast experience, you can trust that BundutecUSA models are dependable and sturdy, ensuring a worry-free camping experience with a fresh new look. BundutecUSA offers pop top and hard-walled campers in several different floor plans for all truck sizes, designed to be tailored according to your preferences. Some customers prefer an empty shell, while others want theirs fully equipped.

BundutecUSA manufactures pop top and hard-walled campers in several different floor-plans for all truck sizes, and are designed to be customized and built to your requests. Some customers only want an empty shell, while others want theirs fully equipped.

At BundutecUSA, we strive to provide our customers with a unique camping experience that goes beyond traditional RV-style truck campers. That’s why we introduced the BunduTop & BunduAwn to our lineup – products that were previously unavailable in the United States

While truck camping is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, many of us started out with tent camping. However, sleeping on the cold, bug-ridden ground and setting up poles, ropes, and stakes can be a hassle. For those who still desire the true tent camping experience, attaching a tent to the roof of your SUV or trailer is a unique way to stay off the ground and connect with nature.

Most rooftop tents on the market require a lengthy setup process with poles, ropes, and stakes. Folding them back up after use can be even more time-consuming. That’s why we were thrilled to find a rooftop tent that can be raised or lowered in less than 30 seconds with the push of a button. We contacted Martin Rautenbach, the designer and owner of Bundutec from Johannesburg, South Africa, and were delighted to become the US distributor of his self-supported wrap-around awnings and rooftop tents. These products have been tested and proven durable in harsh conditions in South Africa and Botswana for years, thanks to their all-aluminum construction and Ripstop fabric.

After a visit with Martin’s family and a 10-day trip into the Kalahari bush of Botswana, our founder Rory was hooked on the BunduTop. Its ease of use, sturdy construction, and comfort level made it the perfect fit for what we wanted to sell and use ourselves. We believe that there’s something special about a product that is used and loved by its founders, and that’s why we’re proud to offer the BunduTop and BunduAwn to our customers.

We believe that camping in our products offers invaluable insight that cannot be gained from a boardroom or behind a desk. And we’re committed to expanding our family-owned and operated business, just like Bundutec in South Africa.

Our BundutecUSA pop-top truck campers stand out from other campers on the market with a unique roof design and fresh interior look. With a push of a button, the pop-top roof is raised by a 4-corner electric jack system. We offer various floor-plan options for both hard-walled and pop-top units that can be customized to fit your individual needs and wants. Our founder, Rory, works one-on-one with each customer to ensure satisfaction.

Our commitment to providing the highest quality products remains unwavering. The campers are made with top-grade materials and can withstand harsh weather conditions. They come with a 2-year warranty and are shipped directly to your address via common carrier.

Whether you choose a truck camper, rooftop tent, or awning, you’ll have access to beautiful, remote locations on your bucket list. Our exceptional customer service is always available to help you get back on the trail, wherever that may be.
